How To: Layer Your Body Care

There is a certain art to achieving soft and smooth skin, and knowing how to layer your products is part of it. Moisture sandwiching and slugging have come for our facial skincare routines, but how can we apply this same level of science and sophistication to the rest of our body? Read on below to find out how best to layer your body care for glowy, hydrated limbs.

1. CLEANSE

First and foremost, wash the day away with a gentle and low-foaming body cleanser. Just as you would with your face, it's important to reach for a cleanser that's sympathetic toward's the skin's PH LEVELS. Work a small amount of cleanser into a light lather on damp skin to rid it of dirt, debris, grime and environmental aggressors – without stripping natural oils.

2. PRIME

Think of your EXFOLIATOR as a primer for your skin. Our skin cell turnover slows down as we age, so using an exfoliator in your body care routine speeds up this process to shed dead skin cells and reveal soft and new layers beneath. Our BODY POLISH perfectly preps the skin for shaving and it also allows any ACTIVE INGREDIENTS that you use thereafter to deeply penetrate.

3. SMOOTH

If you choose to shave, now is the ideal time to do it. The Body Polish has created the ideal canvas for your RAZOR to seamlessly glide across. Plus, exfoliating first greatly reduces the risk of INGROWN HAIRS. Make sure you always use SHAVE CREAM. Ours has been formulated with PLANT OILS that provides a luxurious 'cushion' between your Razor and skin.

4. NOURISH

Replenish and rehydrate the skin as soon as you step out of the shower or bath. While skin is still damp, generously apply our BODY MOISTURISER. Keep in mind that it's best to apply any body care products from thinnest to thickest formulation. So if you're also adding in a serum, use that first, and then lock in moisture with a cream.

5. COCOON

The final step in your body care layer! We love to disperse a few drops of body oil and apply it on top of our moisturiser. Always use an oil last: it has a heavier/denser texture and creates a physical barrier over the top of the skin that traps in hydration and active ingredients. This will ensure your skin stays luminous and soft to the touch for hours to come!
