Winter Body Care Tips

Winter is here, which means cooler temperatures, shorter days and the potential for dehydrated skin. Arctic conditions and icy winds outdoors can leave the skin dry and inflamed, while indoor heating and hot showers can strip the skin of moisture and natural oils. Follow our body care tips below to SUPPORT YOUR SKIN’S BARRIER and achieve healthy, hydrated skin.

EXFOLIATE REGULARLY

Cooler temperatures and reduced sun exposure in winter means you can up your level of exfoliation. Using an exfoliator on your body up to four times a week will slough away dead skin cells to reveal glowing limbs. Our BODY POLISH has been formulated with a considered blend of both physical and chemical exfoliators to delicately resurface the skin. It also perfectly preps the skin for shaving, clearing out the pores and eliminating ingrowns.

LOCK IN MOISTURE

In winter, it can feel wonderful to swap out lightweight lotions for more occlusive and emollient moisturisers. It’s best to apply your moisturiser as soon as you get out of the shower or the bath, while the skin is still slightly damp. Use our BODY MOISTURISER daily for hydrated and dewy skin. It contains rich plant oils and naturally active ingredients like squalane and niacinamide that deeply nourish dry winter skin, locking in moisture while absorbing quickly.

LIMIT HOT SHOWERS

It’s undeniable that luxuriating under a hot shower or hanging out in a hot bath is an antidote for winter’s challenging weather. But hot water can actually dry out the skin, stripping it of its oil content and preventing it from retaining moisture. Instead, go for lukewarm water and try not to overdo it.

HYDRATE FROM WITHIN

Drinking water is essential in keeping your body functioning at its best. From protecting the immune system to flushing out toxins and boosting the mood, sipping on water throughout your day has so many benefits. It’s recommended that women have about 2 litres of water a day. We like to drink herbal teas to keep up fluid intake while warming the body.
