Here at LUI, we love the idea of rituals: those little everyday practices that help you feel calm, centred and whole. We believe shaving deserves to be part of this self-care routine. In celebration of mindful moments, the LUI Ritual series asks friends of the brand about their own positive habits and how they elevate their day.
HI, MY NAME IS… Steph Walsh.
BUT EVERYONE CALLS ME… Steph or Stephie.
WHEN I WAS GROWING UP I DREAMED OF BEING… a fashion designer.
BUT NOW I WORK AS… owner of HER SOLIS—Facial Studio.
THE FIRST THING I DO WHEN I WAKE UP IS… open the blinds and tongue scrape/brush teeth.
THE LAST SONG I PLAYED ON SPOTIFY… 'Love Me Not' by Ravyn Lenae.
MY MORNING ROUTINE IS…
1. Warm lemon water with cayenne pepper and Celtic sea salt.
2. Swim and hot pilates.
3. Shower and dry body brush (to stimulate lymphatic flow) — doing this in the morning is such a good way to wake up the body and get your circulation moving.
4. Make myself a yummy breakfast.
5. Check my emails.
THE PERFUME I SPRAY ON RIGHT BEFORE I LEAVE THE HOUSE IS… I love natural perfumes and oils. Green Cedar by Abel.
MY COFFEE ORDER IS… chai or hot chocolate.


THROUGHOUT MY DAY I FIND JOY IN… an ocean swim, letting a good playlist set the mood in the studio, lighting a candle, quiet mornings, going to the market, my morning cacao drink and stepping outside for some sunshine.
MY LUNCH ORDER IS... Vietnamese beef noodle bowl with extra chilli on the side.
MY 3PM PICK-ME-UP IS… coconut water; it is full of natural electrolytes like potassium and magnesium. I find it is perfect for a little boost of energy when I’m feeling tired.
AFTER A LONG DAY I SWITCH OFF BY… watering the veggie garden, then cooking a yummy dinner with my partner whilst listening to music.
THE LAST BOOK I COULDN’T PUT DOWN… Mel Robbins, Let Them Theory. It really helped me let go of feeling responsible for how others react and focus more on staying true to myself. It’s the kind of book that leaves you feeling lighter and a little more sure of your journey.
MY NIGHTTIME ROUTINE IS…
1. Shower always.
2. Oil cleanse and facial cup, I find this helps cleanse away the day.
3. Lemongrass and ginger tea for digestion.
4. Burn some Palo Santo.
5. Watch an episode of whichever show I’m watching.
THE LAST THING I DO BEFORE BED IS… burn a little Palo Santo and pop on my meditation sleep music.
