Here at LUI, we love the idea of rituals: those little everyday practices that help you feel calm, centred and whole. We believe shaving deserves to be part of this self-care routine. In celebration of mindful moments, the LUI Ritual series asks friends of the brand about their own positive habits and how they elevate their day.
HI, MY NAME IS… Katherine.
BUT EVERYONE CALLS ME… KD.
WHEN I WAS GROWING UP I DREAMED OF BEING… a florist.
BUT NOW I WORK AS… a content creator and owner of a fine jewellery business called KDJ (Katherine Denton Jewellery).
THE FIRST THING I DO WHEN I WAKE UP IS… write down five things I’m grateful for.
THE LAST SONG I PLAYED ON SPOTIFY… ‘Redrum' - 21 Savage.
MY MORNING ROUTINE IS…
1. Write down five things I’m grateful for and run through my to-do list for the day.
2. Shower before anything and brush my teeth — or else I can’t function!
3. Get dressed in my outfit for the day. Even when I’m just working from home, I always find it sets me up for the day.
4. Do my morning skincare routine.
5. Make my matcha and drink it whilst doing my makeup.
THE PERFUME I SPRAY ON RIGHT BEFORE I LEAVE THE HOUSE IS… Lost Cherry by Tom Ford.
MY COFFEE ORDER IS… an oat decaf cappuccino.
THROUGHOUT MY DAY I FIND JOY IN… my work! Designing jewellery and working with clients on future heirlooms is a dream come true. Also creating content for other incredible brands is extremely fulfilling.
MY LUNCH ORDER IS… usually a salad or a sandwich from Morning Market.
MY 3PM PICK-ME-UP IS… something sweet! Ideally a croissant or some homemade caramel slice.
AFTER A LONG DAY I SWITCH OFF BY… putting my phone on do not disturb, making myself a tea and drinking it in bed with a good book.
THE LAST BOOK I COULDN’T PUT DOWN… Three Women by Lisa Taddeo.
MY NIGHTTIME ROUTINE IS…
1. Remove my makeup (always).
2. Have a shower to wash away the day!
3. Do my nighttime skincare routine.
4. Burn a candle.
5. Get into my comfies and run through my calendar for the next day.
